MAKING YOUR MARK

You know how to organise. Now… what do you want to be known for?

Making Your Mark is a one-day intensive for experienced Professional Organisers who are ready to think differently about the next stage of their business.

You’ve worked with real clients. You’ve dealt with situations that no training manual could completely prepare you for. You know what you’re good at, what you enjoy and, increasingly, the kind of work you want more — and less — of.

The question is no longer simply “How do I become a better organiser?”

It’s “What kind of Professional Organiser do I want to become?”

Making Your Mark gives you the opportunity to step back from the day-to-day work and look critically at your expertise, reputation, positioning and future direction.

The course

This one-day intensive comprises six modules, with each building on the one before:

  1. Ground Zero
Where are you now, really? Take stock of your business, your experience and what you have learned from working with clients.

  2. How Much Do You Know?
Recognise the knowledge and expertise you have developed through experience, and identify where there are still gaps.

  3. Building Credibility
Understand what creates genuine professional credibility and how to communicate your expertise without overclaiming it.

  4. Your Reputation
Consider what clients, colleagues and your wider professional community know you for, and whether that matches what you want to be known for.

  5. Growth
Explore what growth means for you. More clients isn't always the answer. Growth might mean specialising, increasing your value, changing the work you accept, building a team or creating a business that works differently.

  6. Taking on Large Projects
Understand what changes when the scale of the work changes, from planning and communication to pricing, boundaries, resources and managing expectations.

This course is for you if…

You are already working as a Professional Organiser and have enough client experience to know that becoming established in this profession takes far more than being good at organising.

You may be wondering:

  • What am I particularly good at?

  • Should I specialise?

  • What should I be charging?

  • How do I build genuine professional credibility?

  • What do I want my reputation to be?

  • Do I actually want a bigger business?

  • Am I ready to take on larger or more complex projects?

  • What is the next stage for me?

You don't need to have all those answers before you come.

That is precisely the point.

Learn from experience, not theory

Making Your Mark is led by Sarah Cottman, an experienced Professional Organiser, trainer and mentor who has spent more than two decades working with clients and supporting Professional Organisers at different stages of their careers.

This isn't generic small-business training adapted for organisers.

The discussions, examples and decisions are grounded in the realities of running a Professional Organising business and working with real clients.

What you'll leave with

You won't leave with somebody else's formula for what a successful Professional Organiser should look like, or what has been generated by AI.

You'll leave with a clearer understanding of your expertise, your professional identity, where your business is heading and the decisions you need to make next.

Once you know how to organise, the bigger question becomes:

What are you going to do with everything you now know?
